March Selection Box 2026 (France)

March's Selection Box features six wines from the south and south-west of France. French wine really does have it all - quality, provenance, variety, skilled production and (contrary to many people's beliefs) great value for money. This month's box is available, as always with tasting notes, for the reduced price of £79.

Deux Grives Marsanne Viognier, Languedoc-Roussillon, France 2023 (12.5% Vol)

A wine that expresses true harmony of varietals. Viognier lends punchy stone fruit aromas whilst the Marsanne adds refreshing acidity and liveliness. Truly mouth-watering and delicious.

Bila-Haut Les Vignes Cotes-du-Roussillon Blanc, M.Chapoutier, Roussillon, France 2023 (Vol 13.5%)

On the nose this wine exhibits floral and citrus aromas (lemon, grapefruit) with smoky notes. On the palate, it's fresh and very aromatic with round body/structure and a pleasant acidity (coming from the later ripening sites at higher altitude). A lot of freshness on the finish mixed with an expression of minerality.

A bouquet of white flowers, strawberries, with some minerality and a touch of spiciness. The palate is round, fresh and balanced with a long, elegant finish.

Powerful, spicy red berries and a delicate floral touch on the nose. Concentrated and structured on the palate with a tinge of silky tannins. Great with grilled, spicy chicken.

A full-bodied Cahors with dark cherry on both the nose and palate, which is accompanied by slight aromas of coffee. Goes well with venison or pheasant.

With lots of black fruit on the nose, this is a deep, intense Cabernet Sauvignon which has an abundance of concentrated fruit on the finish. Goes well with roast beef or strong cheese.
