September Selection Box 2024 (Southern France)

As summer draws to a close, we're clinging on to a little bit of Southern French sunshine this month with a wonderful selection of wines from some great producers new and old. The two whites, one rosé and three reds are all available for the discounted price of £75.

Deux Grives Marsanne Viognier, Languedoc-Roussillon, France 2023 (12.5% Vol)

A wine that expresses true harmony of varietals. Viognier lends punchy stone fruit aromas whilst the Marsanne adds refreshing acidity and liveliness. Truly mouth-watering and delicious on it's own or great with spicy chicken dishes.

Domaine Mont d'Hortes Sauvignon Blanc, Cotes de Thongue 2021/22 (13% Vol)

Crisp, zesty and full of fruit on the nose. This wine shows a great balance of acidity and citrus fruit on the palate, with a clean and satisfying finish. Good with chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce.

Saint Sidoine, Cotes de Provence Rosé, Provence, France 2023 (13% Vol)

Clean and crisp on the nose with red fruits and a little acidity. Soft dry and elegant on the palate with an attractive strawberry and cream flavour. Lightly chilled, makes an excellent sundowner. 

Le Raconteur Cabernet Sauvignon, Southern France 2020 (13% Vol)

On the nose - black fruits and spicy notes. On the palate - flavours of elderberry, bramble, cinnamon and orange zest. Soft, round tannins provide a silky finish. Goes well with Beef Stroganoff.

Domaine La Bastide Syrah Vieilles Vignes, Aude Hauterive, Languedoc, France 2020 (14.5% Vol)

Intense nose of red fruits, spice and cherries. Lots of red fruit flavour on the palate with silky soft tannins leading to a long finish. Spicy stews or sausage accompany this wine well.

Elaboration G.S.M, Languedoc-Roussillon, France 2022

This blend of the world-famous trio is loved for its balanced combination of fruit, spice, tannins and structure. The Grenache provides expressive berry flavours, with a juicy and smooth palate. Syrah brings a good structure to the blend, with voluptuous aromas of sweet spices. The Mourvèdre gives to the final wine its firm tannins and deep colour. A very versatile wine which will go with any red meat dish.
